Large two-level lodge with open plan living area and modern kitchen. Comfy beds in nice bedrooms. Three bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower. Added bonus of a sauna. Beautiful grounds and gardens.

comfortable place for 4 nights. the hotel has special atmosphere and lovely views. we stayed here for trip in the apartment with a sofa bed, an ironing set and a sitting area.

We had a great time at this place, the staff was friendly, the location was beautiful, and our room was large and comfortable, plus they had a lovely bar on site.

This place is a fantastic base for exploring the attractions in the area. There is a restaurant on site called Rafters.

our recent stay near aberfoyle was absolutely amazing. macdonald exceeded our expectations in every way during our romantic date. the fantastic views of the loch, the comfortable bed, and the excellent spa treatment were all highlights for us.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful resort tucked away in the stunning Scottish Highlands. the apartment we stayed in was spacious and clean, with a charming 70's decor that added to the cozy atmosphere. the breathtaking view of the lake and mountains from our windows was a perfect way to start each day. the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our needs were met throughout our stay. the resort also offered great leisure facilities and activities for children, keeping everyone entertained. Plus, the self-catering unit was well-equipped, making it easy for us to prepare meals. it was a fantastic place to relax and unwind.

Some parts of the resort's accommodations showed signs of neglect, such as missing light fittings and holes in the walls.

The apartments were spacious with great views and private balconies. Dogs were welcome and staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds were terrific with plenty of outdoor activities. The swimming pool and spa facilities were a bonus.

All was good.

We had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The room had stunning views over the Loch and the bed was very comfortable. The food, especially dinner, was exceptional. The gardens and pool were also a nice addition to our stay. Despite a few minor issues, the staff were generally friendly and helpful.

the stay in aberfoyle was amazing - the view over loch ard from the red maple lodges was stunning. having a private sauna was a game changer and made the trip even more special. highly recommend for a week or long weekend.

We had a fantastic stay at a beautiful resort with stunning scenery. the peaceful atmosphere and lovely accommodation were exactly what we were looking for. the grounds were fantastic, and we were even upgraded to a suite which was great! the swimming pool and Jacuzzi were nice, and we enjoyed the lovely view of Loch Ard. the sauna in our apartment was a nice touch, and the food at the main restaurant was excellent. People were helpful and friendly, and we appreciated the individual room temperature control. the area offered lots of nice hiking opportunities, and the boat ride on Loch Katrine was a comfortable and interesting experience. our stay at Macdonald was truly incredible. Cons: All good. 😊.

The grounds and views were stunning, perfect for young families. The water sports center and kayaking added to the fun. Ample space and great facilities in the lodge. Close proximity to Aberfoyle for shopping needs.

Great view, well-equipped apartment, relaxing stay with extra surprises for wife's birthday. Lovely buildings, resort, and surroundings. Friendly and fun staff, especially the accordion player and front of house waiter. Perfect location, short drive to local amenities, kids play area, and beautiful hotel grounds.
